Who We Are and What We Stand For

Statement of Faith

  • We are an interdenominational, Christ-centered, Bible-believing and Spirit-filled group.
  • We believe in the Bible, both Old and New Testament, as the inspired Word of God.
“All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.” (2 Timothy 3:16)
  • We believe in one God, eternally existent to three persons. Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
“...the Holy Spirit, in bodily form, descended on him like a dove. And a voice from heaven said, “You are my dearly loved Son, and you bring me great joy.” (Luke 3:22)
  • We believe in the Virgin Birth of Jesus, the only begotten Son of God, and in His sinless life.
23 “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.” (Matthew 1:23)
16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)
“...One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin.” (Hebrews 4:15)
  • We believe that salvation is a free gift from God, through Jesus Christ by grace through faith.
“For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God.” (Ephesians 2:8)
  • We believe that one must have a born-again experience (personal relationship with God) to see and enter the kingdom of God.
“3 Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” (John 3:3)
“5 Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.” (John 3:5)
  • We believe that one must be baptized in water as a public proclamation of his faith in Christ.
“15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved.” (Mark 16:15-16)
  • We believe that Jesus Christ was crucified & died. He was buried & rose again on the third day.
“...Christ died for our sins, 4 and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.” (1 Corinthians 15:3-4)
  • We believe in the resurrection.
“16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus, we shall always be with the Lord.”
    (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17)
  • We believe that every Christian must be truly baptized with the Holy Spirit to receive power and to be an effective witness for Christ.
“John baptized with water, but in just a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.” (Acts 1:5)
“8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” (Acts 1:8)
“13 For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink into one Spirit.”
    (1 Corinthians 12:13)
  • We believe in world evangelism and accept the great commission of Jesus Christ.
“14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.”  (Matthew 24:14)

Our History

Introduction:
Welcome to JIA Waterloo Region, a community deeply rooted in the love of Christ and committed to spreading His message of hope and transformation. Since our foundation in 2017, we have dedicated ourselves to building a vibrant church family that thrives on faith, service, and fellowship. Our journey has been marked by growth, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to our shared beliefs.

Founding Years:
JIA Waterloo Region started in 2017 as a home church in the Auza family's residence. Responding to God's call to create a place of worship and fellowship, the Anareta and Auza families laid the foundation for our church to become a beacon of hope and transformation.

Growth and Development:
As our congregation grew, we moved from the Auza residence to renting the Fellowship Room of Faith Evangelical Missionary Church. By 2020, we had expanded enough to rent its sanctuary, allowing us to reach and serve more people under the leadership of Ptrs. Alfredo and Maribel Anareta, we have continued to expand our ministries, positively impacting our community and reaching out to those in need.

Adapting to the Pandemic:
When the COVID-19 pandemic forced churches to adapt and innovate, JIA Waterloo Region rose to the challenge. In 2020, we launched our live online services, enabling our congregation to worship and connect safely from home. Despite the physical distance, our sense of community and fellowship remained strong as we continued to grow together in faith and love.

Vision and Mission

Vision
John 15:16 “16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.”

Mission

  • To ESTABLISH
    strong community cell churches (J-Groups)

  • To TRAIN
every member to become disciple and cell (J-Group) leader

  • To EQUIP
    every member for mission involvement

Looking Ahead:
As we look to the future, we do so with excitement and anticipation for all that God has in store for JIA Waterloo Region. With hearts full of faith and a deep sense of purpose, we are committed to fulfilling our vision and mission, continuing to grow as disciples, building strong community cell churches (J-Groups), and reaching out to those in need with the love and grace of Christ.

Thank you for joining us on this journey through the history of JIA Waterloo Region. Together, let us continue to follow the example set by Christ, as we seek to fulfill our vision and mission with passion, dedication, and love.
